"Before she received Wickford", Bari says, "she depended on the kindness of others to help her with daily tasks". Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 18 months, the simplest task can be a challenge for her. Wickford is by her side every day, pushing elevator buttons and picking up items that she drops. He even helps Bari to dress but she won't say whether he actually chooses the outfits for her. Although she says he does have great taste and a definite flair for style. Bari, a resident of Sacramento, works for the state Department of Rehabilitation.
