Nancy and Union

Nancy is a very energetic woman who loves to share her life with others. She has a wry sense of humor and an inspiring outlook about living with a motor neuron disease. Nancy is a very active volunteer and spokesperson for Canine Companions for Independence.

Nancy attended the August 1995 Team Training session in Santa Rosa, CA. There she was matched with Union, a strong, affectionate Labrador retriever/golden retriever cross.

Nancy, her husband Ramesh, and Union live in Sacramento, CA. Nancy enjoys reading, volunteering, traveling and speaking on behalf of Canine Companions for Independence. "Union loves to pull my wheelchair," Nancy said, "and that means I won't tire so quickly. We make quite a team!"
